History

Electricity

From 1948, Bradfords electricity was supplied by 'Yorkshire Electricity Board'; however, after the privatisation of 1990, it became 'Yorkshire Electricity Group plc'. It was then acquired by 'American Electric Power' (AEP) and 'Public Service Company of Colorado'. In 2001 'Innogy plc' bought the company for a 94.75% stake which eventually became a part of Npower.

Gas

The gas in Bradford, like the rest of Yorkshire, used to be supplied by 'North Eastern gas Board' between the years of 1948-1972. After this it became a region of the British Gas Corporation.
