Aferwards, it became SEEBOARD plc in accordance with the new government act. In 2002 it joined '24seven Utility Services' under the ownership of the 'LE Group' (London Electricity), which became EDF Energy in 2003, the UK version of 'Électricité de France'. It was then acquired by 'Cheung Kong Holdings' and renamed 'UK Power Networks' the current DNO for Brighton.

Gas

Between the years of 1948 and 1972 the gas supply in Brighton was provided by 'South Eastern Gas board'; however, after which, it became an area of the British Gas Corporation.
