History

Electricity

Since 1947, the electricity in Coventry was supplied by 'Midlands Electricity Board'; however, after privatisation in 1990 it turned into a plc company. It was then split and sold a number of times: the supply to Npower; the distribution to 'GPU Power' and 'Aquila'. It was finally acquired by Powergen in 2004, becoming 'Central Networks', part of E·ON.

Gas

Between 1948-1973, the gas in Coventry was supplied by 'West Midlands Gas Board'; however, it became a part of the British Gas Corporation after this point.
