How much do energy bills cost?

Well, this really depends on how many people there is in your house and how much you’re all in the house. Let’s say that you live in a three bedroom, three person terrace house. You’re likely to use between 1,000 - 1,400 kWh of gas and 300 - 500 kWh of electricity per month. Now this might not make much sense to you right now but we’re about to put this into real terms.

If you are with SSE on a standard tariff, the type of deal your landlord has probably put you on as a default, you’d be paying something like the following:

Monthly usage:
Gas - 1,312 kWh
Electricity - 465 kWh

SSE Bath university energy bills

Monthly cost:
Gas - £58
Elec - £82
____

Total - £140

(£46.66 each per month)

Now, if you decide to spend 10 minutes on the phone to us today, you could switch to a deal something like the one below:

Bulb Bath university energy bills

Tariff: Bulb's 'Vari-Fair'

Monthly cost:
Gas - £40
Elec - £65
____

Total - £105

(£35 each per month)

This may not seem like a very big saving; however, this £36 monthly household saving will soon add up. Over a year you will save a massive £432 which seems like a no brainer for 10 minutes of your time.
