Most Popular Provider in Inverness

History
Electricity
Before privatisation, Inverness's electricity supply used to be provided by 'North of Scotland Hydro Board'; however, after such event, it turned into a plc company and became 'Scottish Hydro Electric plc'. This then merged with 'Southern Electric' to become 'Scottish & Southern Energy', the company that now trades under the name 'SSE', of course now, however, marketing outside of their original respective territories.
Gas
Between the years of 1949 and 1973, the gas in Inverness, much like the rest of Scotland, was provided by 'Scottish Gas Board'; however, after this time it became a region of the British Gas Corporation.
