Spark Energy login: Access your customer account
Spark Energy was one of the first energy companies to focus on the letting industry. If you’re already a customer, our Spark Energy login guide will help you to access the supplier’s online portal, as well as provide details about the Spark Energy apps.
When Spark Energy ceased trading in late 2018, OVO Energy took on its customers’ gas and electricity supply but continued to use the Spark Energy brand and operating company.
Spark Energy customers can continue to use Spark Energy’s online account to manage their energy accounts entirely online. In this guide, we break down all that you need to know about accessing your Spark Energy login, online account and the Spark Energy smartphone app.
How to access the Spark Energy login page
Accessing the Spark Energy login page is quick and easy. There are different ways to access the page online, and we will break these down for you now.
- Type ‘Spark Energy’ into your search engine and select Home - Spark - Bringing Energy to Life. This will take you to Spark Energy’s homepage. There is a purple icon in the top right corner that says My Online Account. Click on this. You will now be redirected to the Spark Energy login page.
- Type ‘Spark Energy login’ into your search engine. Click on the result that says Spark Energy - My Account. It should be the first option on the results page. This will take you directly to the Spark Energy login page.

Access Spark Energy login page
Make sure you select a result that ends in .co.uk. There is a different Spark Energy company that is located in the United States that is not affiliated with Spark Energy in the United Kingdom.
How to log into your Spark Energy online account
Step 1: Once you have accessed the Spark Energy login page, bring your attention to the box on the left. It says Log in and Register and at the top. Log in should have a pink background. If it has a purple background, click on Log in and it will change to pink.
Step 2: In the space under Email address, where it says Enter Email address, do as it says and type in the email address that is linked to your account.
Step 3: In the space under Password, where it says Enter Password, type the password associated with the account.
Step 4: Click the pink button that reads Login to My Account. It is located below where you entered your password.
Now you’re in!
Need to register for an online account?
If it is your first time logging in to My Account, you will need to register. This can be done in a few simple steps.
Step 1: After accessing the Spark Energy login page, click on the purple box that says Register and Create an Account. Its background colour will change to pink.
Step 2: Click on the pink button that says Start Registration. You will be directed to a new page.
Step 3: Enter your 10-digit account number in the space that says Your account number. Below this, enter your postcode in the space where it says Your postcode. Check the box next to I’m not a robot and then click the button that says Let’s get started at the bottom.
Step 4: You will be redirected to a new page where you will need to enter in some personal details. You will also need to create a password.
Problems logging in to your account?
The most common issues that prevent customers from logging in to their accounts are forgotten email addresses and passwords. Let’s have a look to see what you should do if you forget either one of these account details.
Have you forgotten your password?
Step 1: If you have forgotten your password, click on where it says I’ve forgotten my login details in pink letters. You can find this under the pink button that reads Login to My Account.
Step 2: You will be redirected to a new page that asks you to enter your email address. Type your email address into the box that says Enter Email address and click the pink button that says Send reset link.
Step 3: You will now need to go to your email account. Open the latest email from Spark Energy. Click on the link that will allow you to reset your password.
Have you forgotten your email address?
If you have forgotten the email address associated with your account, you should contact Spark Energy’s customer service team. You can contact the team by calling 0345 034 7474 or via the live chat on the website.
What can you do with your Spark Energy online account?
Spark Energy’s online account allows you to manage your energy account 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Registered customers can benefit from the following various components:
- Set up your direct debit
- Make payments and view payment history
- View your current account balance
- Manage your contact preferences
- View and change your tariff
- Submit your meter readings
- Get help for pay as you go
Spark Energy apps
Spark Energy has two different apps for its customers. Much like with the online account, the apps allow you to manage your account at any time, just from your phone. They are not yet adapted for tablet use.
Both of Spark Energy’s apps are available for Android and Apple devices. They can be downloaded for free from the Google Play store or the App Store.
The original Spark Energy app is for customers who pay their bills by direct debit. Unfortunately, this app’s reviews are overall, somewhat negative.
Customers have complained about having trouble logging in to their accounts. For customers that were able to log in, many have reported that the feature to submit meter readings does not work.
When working properly, the app should allow you to do the following:
- Set up your direct debit
- View your bills and make payments
- Submit meter readings
- View and change your tariff
- Edit your contact preferences and details
- Let Spark know you’re moving home
Spark introduced the Swift PAYG app in 2018 for prepayment customers. In contrast to the other app, this one has received much better reviews. Customers have praised the app for making their lives easier because they no longer have to go to the shop to top up.
With the Swift PAYG app, Spark Energy customers can do the following:
- Top up gas and electricity meters
- View account details
- Add and save bank card details
- See top-up history
The login process for both apps is quite easy. Once you have downloaded your preferred app from either the Google Play store or the App Store, you’ll just need to open it and enter the same email address and password that you use for My Account, the Spark Energy online account.
