Pros & cons
Selectra verdict
Utility Warehouse is unusual: the right answer for it depends almost entirely on how many services you bundle. If you genuinely want energy, broadband, mobile and home insurance on one bill, with a single customer-service number to call when anything breaks, UW is the cleanest implementation of that idea in the UK market. The loyalty discount, CashBack Card and high Trustpilot score reflect a real product for the bundle-loving customer.
If you only want energy, do not buy UW just for the energy tariff. The unit rates on the unbundled "Value" tariff sit above the Ofgem price cap before any loyalty discount kicks in. The supplier knows this and prices accordingly. Use the Selectra comparator to model your total annual spend across energy, broadband and mobile separately, then compare to the UW bundle. The break-even point typically arrives at three bundled services.

you'll never be allowed to leave even when you're in a retirement home
I am writing this review on behalf of my Mother. This company is Very Very expensive. We tried to cancel my Mother's broadband contract when she had to go into a retirement home, this was in December 26. We have been trying to cancel this contract since then. At one point they agreed to cancel the contract from 12/06/26. We are still trying to cancel this contract even after her death. These are the worst kind of companies ever. And should never to be allowed to trade.

Customer service poor
Have been trying unsuccessfully to contact customer services to have my international roaming switched on… now considering to close my energy and mobile account due to poor customer service… if you are considering UW strike them from your list…. Very poor company

Absolutely appalling and they really don't seem to care about it.
I have been with this company for about 3 years, so I have enough time to get a clue. Initially, I was sold this by someone I knew who was trying to help me with my bills. Luckily, it wasn't someone close, which is what they try to get you to do if you take the "partner" deal, as I feel I would have fallen out badly. It works by packaging deals to make them all cheaper. Allegedly. I was sold broadband and told that I could get out of my existing deal. Don't believe the hype. So I never moved forward with that part of the deal. I moved mobiles. This is on EE, which is the best signal locally, but having looked further, whilst they are cheaper than EE themselves, if you want an EE reseller, there are cheaper ones about. The energy supply was fine. The billing was appalling; the bill only shows the headline figure of the agreed budget unless you read past page 1. I want to see it on the front page because I don't want to have to get to page 3 when page 1 has what appears to be the final figure. When I was eventually told I needed a review (they said after a year, but it really wasn't), I was £ 1,850 in debt. Yet they told me I had been underpaying £104 per month; basic maths says that isn't just 12 months if their other figure is right. Yes, my fault for not reading it all, but we are all busy, so we don't need something misleading. If the monthly payment is that far out it should be reviewed much sooner. So I have ended up on a budget plan whilst moving elsewhere, which they tried to tell me I couldn't do because of the debt (feels like they might be trying to keep me in this mess). And rather than listening to me about the poor layout, they just respond to my complaint with a recommendation to read the bills properly. This is a systems issue, not a me issue. I am sure I am not the only one.

Selectra editorial takeaway
Reading the six reviews together, Utility Warehouse divides cleanly along one axis: whether the customer wants the bundle or only wants the energy. Three five-star reviews (Helen, Marcus, Sophie) come from genuinely happy bundle customers who value consolidation, the CashBack Card and the loyalty discount maths. The lower-rated reviews (Rachel, Imran) come from people who either bought into UW expecting a quick exit option or who were turned off by the Distributor sales model. Neither side is wrong.
Cross-referenced with the Citizens Advice ranking (mid-table) and Trustpilot (4.7/5), the honest read is: UW is an excellent product for a specific customer profile (the household that wants one bill and is willing to commit), and a mediocre energy supplier for everyone else. Do not chase the Trustpilot headline number. Model your full bundle economics before signing.
Selectra explains
Author: Selectra UK energy team · Updated April 2026
Utility Warehouse has one of the strongest Trustpilot scores of any UK energy brand (4.7/5 across roughly 65,000 reviews). We treat that with care: Partner-led sales channels include a structured request for a Trustpilot review immediately after a successful sign-up, which is a pattern known to inflate review scores. The Citizens Advice complaint-handling table tells a more middling story. Below is how the different signals stack up.
Channel
One of the highest scores in UK energy. Reviews skew positive because the bundle proposition resonates with the customer base that self-selects in. 1-star reviews cluster around exit friction and Distributor sales pressure.
Channel
Mid-table. UW's regulator-reported complaint rate has been steady around 3 stars for several quarters. Solid, not exceptional. Below Octopus and EDF on a per-customer basis.
Channel
The Colindale head office reviews skew positive, mostly from successful bundle customers. Engineer visits (for broadband installs) are praised more than energy queries.
Channel
The UW App rates well above the supplier average. The multi-service single view (energy, broadband, mobile, CashBack Card balance) is genuinely useful and well executed.
Channel
Active customer-service team on @UtilityWarehouse. Reddit /r/UKPersonalFinance threads are divided: bundle customers defend UW vigorously, energy-only shoppers caution that it is rarely the cheapest. Recurring "is UW a pyramid scheme" debates focus on the Partner programme rather than the supplier itself.
Selectra expert verdict
The honest bottom line: Utility Warehouse is a good product for a narrow customer profile (the household that wants one bill across three or four utilities and stays for at least 18 months). The high Trustpilot score is partly genuine satisfaction and partly review-flow optimisation. Do not rely on either headline number in isolation. Run the bundle maths against your current providers, then decide.
A great supplier still costs you money if you're on a bad tariff. Compare UW against every other UK supplier on the price for your actual usage.
Common questions
Utility Warehouse is regulated by Ofgem and bound by the Standards of Conduct that protect domestic customers. Reliability is best judged against your own usage profile: read recent reviews, check the Citizens Advice star rating for Utility Warehouse, and confirm the supplier's customer-service hours match when you actually need to call.
Trustpilot, Google Maps and app-store reviews reflect real experiences but are often skewed toward dissatisfied customers (people only post when something goes wrong). The most balanced single rating is Citizens Advice's quarterly supplier performance table, which scores all UK domestic suppliers on complaint handling, transfers, debt and communication — and is built from regulator-supplied data, not self-reported.
Confirm the unit rate (p/kWh) for both gas and electricity, the daily standing charge, the contract length, any exit fee (typical range: £25-£75 per fuel), and whether the deal requires a smart meter. Always cross-check the headline price against several other suppliers based on your actual postcode and annual kWh consumption from a recent bill.
If you're a current or former Utility Warehouse customer, share your experience on Trustpilot UK (search the supplier name), Google Maps (write a review on the Utility Warehouse business profile), or the Apple App Store and Google Play if you've used the mobile app. Selectra also collects independent reviews to help future customers compare suppliers objectively.
