Many UK comparison services skip the human bit. We don't. After more than a decade comparing tariffs across Europe, we know that a quick chat with an advisor avoids confusion and gets you the right deal first time. You can also do everything online if you prefer — both paths lead to the same outcome.
Your money-saving journey starts in one of two ways:
Two ways to switch
Call us, or send your bill — we do the rest
Both methods are free and end the same way: we run the switch with your supplier so you don't have to.
Method 1
Call us
Quickest — phone call with an advisor
A short phone call with one of our advisors can save you trawling the web for the best deals. Tell us about your current tariff, what you need (green energy, fixed vs variable, Economy 7, smart meter), and we walk through the options that fit.

Methodology
How we rank UK energy tariffs
Four criteria, weighted by what changes your bill the most. No supplier can buy a higher ranking.
Price (unit + standing)
HeaviestBoth unit rate (p/kWh) and standing charge are compared across every UK region. We use the supplier's published list price, never a one-off promotion.
Plan terms
HeavyFixed vs variable, exit fees, prompt-payment discount, Economy 7, smart-meter requirement and any conditions on green or EV tariffs.
Greenness
MediumRenewable share of the supplier's fuel mix, REGOs vs PPAs, time-of-use tariffs and EV plans like Octopus Go or Intelligent Octopus.
Customer service
MediumTrustpilot, Citizens Advice supplier league table, complaints data from the Energy Ombudsman, response times and contact channels.
How we stay free
How selectra.co.uk makes money
The site is free for households. We do not charge you to compare, switch or read a guide.
Affiliate commissions
Some UK suppliers pay a flat fee when a visitor signs up via a tracked link.
No paid rankings
Rankings are decided editorially. Paying us doesn't move a supplier up the list.
Disclosed funding
The active partner list is published on our legal mentions page.
Aligned with Ofgem and CMA guidance on online comparison services.
