Finding the right contact details for LV Insurance is not exactly the easiest of tasks: the company has a lot of different phone numbers, email addresses and offices! But don’t fear; we have done all the hard work and collected the LV contact details for you. Whether you need to claim, renew your policy, make a complaint or get a quote, read on to find the best way to contact LV.

Why contact LV?

LV Insurance is a huge company - it has 5 million customers! - which means that it doesn't just have one contact number. In order to deal with the high volume of calls and queries it receives every day, the LV contact details are broken down by insurance type and contact reason, such as renewing a policy, making changes to a policy or making a claim.

LV car insurance contact number

LV offers a range of car insurance (full car insurance page coming soon) policies, including comprehensive car insurance, multi-car insurance and classical car insurance. Classical car insurance, motorbike insurance and breakdown insurance have their own contact details; all other car insurance policies have the same point of contact. We will outline the contact details for these more specalised types of car insurance later on, but first let’s take a look at the contact information for standard LV car insurance.

Make changes to your policy

If you want to make changes to your LV car insurance policy (LV car insurance guide coming soon), e.g. change your name, address or add a person onto your policy, the number you need to ring depends on when you took out your policy. Both phone lines are open Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and bank holidays from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm.

  • If you took out your policy before 6th November 2017: ring 0800 202 8463
  • If you took out your policy on or after 6th November 2017: ring 0800 085 5663

Renew your policy

You can renew your car insurance policy over the phone by calling the number listed below. Remember that you can renew your policy online (find out more in Selectra's guide to LV insurance), but if you want to make any changes to it, you will have to do the renewal process over the phone.

blue telephone

LV car insurance renewal number The team will help you renew your policy 0800 085 5663 *Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.

Make a claim

If you simply need to claim for a chipped windscreen or window, there is no need to contact LV. You can either book an appointment with Autoglass directly online, or give Autoglass a call on 0800 032 9075. Great news! A windscreen claim does not affect your no claims discountor car insurance premium. You will not even have to give Autoglass your policy number.

For all other car insurance claims, you need to ring the LV car insurance claims team.

  • If you are in the UK while making your claim, ring 0800 202 8464
  • If you are outside the UK, ring +44 1202 559 261

Both these lines are open 24 hours of the day, 7 days of the week, so you can make a claim whenever you need to.

If LV has asked you to send any documents, photos or invoices as proof to back up your claim, you can either email them to [email protected], or post them to:

Motor Claims,
PO BOX 7740,
Bournemouth,
BH1 9XD

Follow up on a claim

If you have already made a claim and would like to follow up, there are a few different contact numbers through which you can get in touch:

  • If your car is being repaired: call 0800 032 1625 (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-5pm)
  • If your car has been written off: call 0800 032 1810 (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-5pm)
  • If your car has been stolen: call 0800 032 1769 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm)

Classical car insurance

If you are an LV classical car insurance policy holder (LV car insurance guide coming soon), here are all the numbers you need to make changes to your policy, renew your policy and make a claim.

  • Make changes: 0800 085 5663 (Mon - Fri 8am-8pm, Sat and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm)
  • Renew policy: 0800 085 5663 (Mon - Fri 8am-8pm, Sat and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm). Don’t forget that if you don’t want to make any changes to your policy, you can renew it online.

Contact details for breakdown insurance

Breakdown cover is great but a bit useless if you don’t know the number to call when you actually break down! To get emergency assistance when you are left stranded on the roadside, call one of these LV breakdown recovery numbers:

  • If you are in the UK: 0800 202 8487
  • If you are abroad: +44 1202 292 971
  • If you have classical car insurance: 0800 929 111

All phone lines are open 24/7, so someone will be able to help you no matter what time you breakdown.

If you’ve taken out breakdown cover alongside LV car insurance, they are classed as separate policies. This means that the LV contact details to make changes to or renew your breakdown policy are different to those for your car insurance policy.

Unlike with LV car insurance, you can make certain changes to your breakdown policy online using online forms. The forms differ depending on what personal details you want to change. Click the relevant button below to be taken to the correct form.

If you would like to…

  • change something other than these details - such as add a person to your policy - or you would simply prefer to talk to someone directly to make the changes, you can ring the following number: 0800 756 8700 (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm).
  • renew your LV breakdown insurance, call 0800 756 8700 (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm).

Motorbike insurance contact info

What if you have LV motorbike insurance? What are the LV contact details you need? To make any changes to your motorbike insurance, you will need to give LV a call on one of the following numbers:

  • If you renewed your policy after September 2017 or took out your policy on or after 19 June 2017: ring 0800 085 5663 (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm).
  • If you bought your policy before 19 June 2017 and have not received your renewal pack and you want to renew the policy: ring 0800 085 5663 (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat and bank holidays 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm).

Like with other LV insurance policies, you can renew your motorbike insurance online if you don’t want to make any changes to it. If you want to make changes when you renew, you can ring the renewal phone line on 0800 085 5663 to get everything sorted. You can reach someone on this line Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, Saturday and bank holidays from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The LV motorbike insurance contact number to make a claim is

Struggling to log in to your LV online account? Follow our step by step LV login guide and you will have access in no time.

If you do not have an online account but have car insurance, home insurance and landlord insurance, you can request the documents through LV’s online chat. Lv has divided up its online chat services into the different insurance products:

Manage your life insurance policy

Unlike with LV’s general insurance policies discussed previously (e.g. home, car and travel insurance), you are able to manage your LV life insurance policy online by submitting online forms. You can submit a form to:

  1. Make changes to your policy, such as name, address and bank details
  2. Check the amount you are covered for
  3. Request copies of your policy documents
  4. Make any missed premium payments

Click the button below to find all the relevant forms. When on the page, simply select the type of policy you have and you will see a section named Online forms to manage policy. Just click the form you would like to submit, e.g. Change the name on your policy or Pay your missed premium, fill in all the required information and press submit.

Being an LV member comes with certain benefits, including access to a 24/7 helpline every single day of the year.
