The official My Tesco Mobile app is on the App Store (iOS, search "My Tesco Mobile") and on Google Play (Android, same name). The publisher should be Tesco Mobile Limited. Do not install copycat apps from third-party APK stores; they may not work with your account and may collect data.
You need an active Tesco Mobile account to sign in. The first sign-in usually expects you to be on the Tesco Mobile SIM (it can SMS a verification code). Once signed in, the app works over any Wi-Fi or mobile data; you can use it from a tablet or a different device entirely.
Common requests: SMS (so it can read the one-time verification code on sign-in), notifications (for low-balance alerts and bill-ready reminders) and location (only when you use the coverage map feature). Denying SMS is fine if you enter codes manually; denying location only disables the in-app coverage checker.
Yes. Tap Top up someone else on the home tab, enter the recipient’s Tesco Mobile number, pay by saved card and the credit lands on their SIM within 60 seconds. The recipient gets a free confirmation text.
Three steps. (1) Update to the latest version from the App Store / Google Play (older versions sometimes break after a Tesco backend update). (2) Force-quit and reopen. (3) Sign out and back in. If the issue persists, dial 4455 free from your Tesco SIM, the agent can verify if there is a current outage.
