History

Electricity

Hawick was provided by 'South of Scotland Electricity Board' for its electricity until 1991. It was thereafter privatised and became 'Scottish Power', who would be taken over by Iberdrola in 2007.

Gas

Up until 1973, Hawick's gas came from the 'Scottish Gas Board'. It then became an area of the British Gas Corporation.
