Until 1989, High Wycombe's electricity was supplied by 'Eastern Electricity Board', thereafter it became a plc company. 'Hanson plc' then acquired it in 1995 before it was reacquired by 'Texas Utilities'. After this point it began its journey towards its current state today. It was bought by 'Powergen' who would become part of E·ON. The distribution business, that was part of EDF Energy, became a part of UK Power Networks.
Between 1948 and 1973 the gas supply in High Wycombe was provided by 'Southern Gas Board'. Thereafter it became a region of British Gas Corporation.
