History

Electricity

Kilmarnock's electricity supply was provided by 'South of Scotland Electricity Board' before it was privatised in 1991, becoming a plc company, thereafter continuing as 'Scottish Power'. It was acquired by 'Iberdrola' in 2007.

Before 1973, when it became a region of the British Gas Corporation, the gas in Kilmarnock was supplied by 'Scottish Gas Board'.
