History

Electricity

Northampton was supplied by 'East Midlands Electricity Board' (EMEB) for its electricity between the years 1947-1990. Thereafter it became a plc company and was acquired by 'Powergen in 1998. It was rebranded, along with 'Midlands Electricity plc' as 'Central Works' in 2004. It would then become a part of energy suppliers E·ON.

Gas

Northampton was supplied by 'East Midlands Gas Board' between the years of 1948-1973 before it became an area of the British Gas corporation.
