Frequently asked questions

Here we address a few common questions business owners ask about BT Business broadband:

How long will it take to get set up?

If you sign up to an Enhanced deal, you’ll be switched over the day after you make the order with no break in your connection. This is because 4G Assure will keep you connected even before an engineer has been to take care of the installation. If you’re not signing up to an Enhanced package, the most you can expect is the following wait times:

  • If you’re installing a new line (broadband & phone): 10 days
  • If you’re switching (broadband) from another provider: 10 days
  • If you’re switching (broadband & phone) from another provider: 10 days
  • If you’re switching from BT home broadband to BT business: 5 days

Can I upgrade to a new deal?

Yes, of course. You just have to get in touch with BT. You can find out the best way to do so via our contact page.

Can I use BT’s 5 million Wi-Fi hotspots?

Yes, you can. When you’re in range of one, just sign in with your email address and the details BT gives you when you join. If you’re using BT’s Wi-Fi app, you’ll be connected automatically when you’re in range of a hotspot.

How easy is to switch to BT?

It’s very easy. All you do is choose the deal that suits your business on BT’s website, then buy either online or by phone. The process of switching is then handled for you, and you can also keep your current phone number if you like - just let BT know and they will contact your current provider to arrange the transfer.
