Who is Cuckoo Broadband?

Registered as Cuckoo Internet Ltd, Cuckoo is an independent UK ISP founded in London in 2019 by Alex Fitzgerald. It built its early reputation on three simple promises: no mid-contract price hikes tied to inflation, a real 1-month rolling option in a market that is normally locked into 12- or 24-month terms, and a UK-based human support team small enough to actually pick up the phone.

Cuckoo does not own its own fibre network. It is what the industry calls a white-label provider: it buys wholesale access to the Openreach Full Fibre and FTTC network, the same physical lines that BT, Sky and Plusnet sell over, and resells it under its own brand and pricing. That means coverage and physical reliability are identical to the big four ISPs, but the customer experience is very different.

The company is regulated by Ofcom and is a member of the CISAS alternative dispute resolution scheme for unresolved complaints.

Cuckoo is the top pick if you want no-commitment broadband. The 1-month rolling contract is genuinely rare in the UK, and on the 12-month plan Cuckoo is competitive on price while scoring much higher on customer service than BT, Sky, TalkTalk or Vodafone. The eero Pro 6E router is good kit, and Trustpilot consistently shows a customer experience that the big ISPs cannot match.

The honest weaknesses are scale and product breadth. Cuckoo has no TV bundle, no mobile, no business arm and no smart-home tie-in, so households that want a single bill for everything will not find it here. The customer pool is smaller, which means edge-case problems (a tricky Openreach install, a billing dispute) can take longer to resolve than at a provider with thousands of staff. The 12-month plan is cheaper if you know you will stay put.

Will Cuckoo raise my price during the contract?

Cuckoo’s 12-month and 24-month contracts include a £3 annual price rise on 1 April each year, written into the contract on day one.
