Step by step

Complaints process at italk

italk’s code of practice requires a written reply within 5 working days. The CISAS route exists for the cases that drag on past eight weeks, and it is free for you.

  1. 1

Call or email italk for first-line fix

Start with customer care on 0333 014 0001 or email [email protected]. italk’s code of practice commits the team to acknowledge complaints quickly and respond in writing within 5 working days.

  2. 2

Ask for a formal complaint reference

If the first agent cannot fix it, ask explicitly for the case to be logged as a formal complaint and request the reference number. Write it down with the date, the agent’s name and a brief summary of what was agreed.

  3. 3

    Escalate after 8 weeks unresolved

If italk has not resolved your complaint within 8 weeks, or has issued a deadlock letter sooner, take it to CISAS, the Ofcom-approved Communications and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme. The service is free of charge to consumers and binding on italk if you accept the outcome.

  4. 4

Keep every reference number and date

Save chat transcripts, call dates, agent names and the complaint reference. CISAS, Ofcom and Citizens Advice all rely on this paper trail when deciding the case. For nuisance or cold-call issues, log a parallel report with the ICO.

CISAS can be reached at cedr.com/consumer/cisas, on 020 7520 3827 or by email at [email protected].
