Netgem TV is the ultimate one-stop-shop for entertainment. From live channels to On Demand content to its unlimited mobile TV app, Netgem TV offers it all. But what exactly does Netgem TV offer and does it have a good reputation? Read our complete Netgem TV guide to find out.

What Is Netgem TV?

gold tv, laptop and smartphone

Netgem TV is a better value alternative to traditional Pay TV. It comes with an award winning 4K TV box worth £149 and unlimited mobile TV. With a Netgem TV subscription, you get access to more than 210 live channels, over 50,000 hours of on-demand content, and the ability to have all your streaming subscriptions merged into one place.

Not only that, Netgem TV supports Amazon Alexa meaning you can take full control of your TV with voice control with commands such as:

  • “Alexa, mute”, “Alexa, pause”, “Alexa, open Prime Video”, ”Alexa, go left”
  • No remote no problem ”Go to TV guide”, “Watch Eastenders”, “Volume up”
  • ”Alexa, search for Peaky Blinders” no need to type anymore, just say it
  • ”Alexa, turn off the TV” and your box and TV will turn off at once

TikTok on Netgem TV Netgem TV is the first in Europe to bring TikTok to TVs. With more visits than Google, TikTok is the fastest growing platform in the world with 1.2 billion users. With Netgem TV, you can browse through the endless genres and binge watch your favourite creators on the big screen.

With Netgem’s Universal Search, you no longer have to go from app to app to find something decent to watch. After you’ve linked your streaming service accounts to your Netgem TV, you can do a single search across all your streaming subscriptions meaning you can spend more time watching and less time finding something to watch.

Netgem TV Mesh

With the additional Netgem TV Mesh, you can boost your home wifi signal strength to ensure your entire home has fast and stable internet.

If you’ve got a large home, or thick walls, you might be familiar with wifi blackouts where you just can’t seem to get a solid wifi connection or suffer from slow internet speeds.

If that sounds like a problem you’re only too familiar with, the Netgem TV Mesh can help get around it. Simply plug in the wifi pods, which are compatible with all routers, and you’ll be able to stream from any part of your home.

There are even parental controls included with the mesh system giving you greater control over what your children do online. Some of the benefits of using the Netgem TV Super Wifi Mesh are:

  1. Reduces WiFi network congestion to improve WiFi speed
  2. Improves your WiFi coverage
  3. Reduces connection loss
  4. Allows more devices to be added to your network without affecting overall performance

Netgem TV App

The Netgem TV app is the last app you’ll ever need for content streaming. Seriously. Once you’ve done the initial setup and linked your accounts you’ll be able to:

  • Watch Live TV on the go
  • Bookmark your favourite shows
  • View the TV guide for the next 7 days
  • Stream your content from other apps such as YouTube, BritBox, Amazon Prime, etc.
  • Search for content and channels
  • Add interesting shows to your watch list
  • Cast content directly to your TV
  • Control your TV with the built in remote
  • Get help and support directly from within the app

How Do I Set Up My Netgem TV Box?

Netgem TV box 2022 4k

After you’ve signed up for Netgem TV, the 4K set-top box will be delivered to your door within a few days. Once it arrives, getting set up is super-simple and within just a few minutes you’ll be enjoying all your favourite shows.

To set up your Netgem TV box, just follow these steps:

  1. Insert the HDMI cable into your TV and Netgem TV box
  2. Insert your TV aerial into the ‘Aerial’ port on your Netgem TV box
  3. If you want to use an ethernet cable, plug it into your Netgem TV box and your router, otherwise go to the next step
  4. Plug in the power adapter and turn it on using the remote control
  5. Switch on your TV and navigate to the correct HDMI channel

Once you’ve followed those instructions, you’ll be ready to start configuring your Netgem TV box. Simply follow the on screen instructions.

  1. If you didn’t connect an ethernet cable, you’ll be prompted to set up via wifi. Find your wifi network from the on-screen list and enter the password
  2. Choose a four-digit parental control pin and decide if you want to enable or disable this option
  3. Your Netgem TV box will have been scanning for available freeview channels and it will tell you how many channels were found
  4. Read the terms and conditions, then click ‘Accept’

The final step is to link the Netgem TV app to your account. This is done by simply downloading the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Follow these steps to set up your Netgem TV app.

  1. During setup, your Netgem TV box will give you a unique four-digit code
  2. Download the app from the app store for your mobile device
  3. When prompted, enter the code that is shown on your TV
  4. Repeat for each of your mobile devices

If everything went well, you will see the message 'Pairing successful' and you can enjoy everything Netgem TV has to offer.

Do You Need an Aerial for Netgem TV?

No, without an aerial you will be able to watch around 90 IP (Internet Protocol) channels that are streamed over your internet connection. You can also enjoy the on-demand content.

To watch the Freeview channels, you will need to connect a standard TV aerial. If your home doesn’t have a TV aerial, you can either get one installed or buy a portable aerial from Amazon or your local electrical retailer for as little as £10.

Can You Record with Netgem?

Yes, you can record, pause and rewind live TV as long as you have inserted a formatted USB stick into your Netgem TV Box.

You can even watch live TV and record another channel at the same time, as long as they are broadcast on the same MUX (multiplexing). You can find out which channels this is possible with this guide to Freeview Channels.

How Do I Cancel Netgem TV?

If you’ve decided that you no longer want to subscribe to Netgem TV, it's easy to cancel your Netgem TV subscription. All you have to do is email [email protected] with your name, phone number and email address that you used when you joined.

Netgem TV will get back to you shortly after to confirm your subscription has been cancelled.
