For Anglian Water moving home, there are different procedures to follow depending on if you’re a new customer looking to register or an existing customer that wants to carry out an Anglian Water change of address.

Anglian Water Change of Address

You’ll need to let the Anglian Water moving home team know if you’re an existing customer and you’re changing address to another property supplied by Anglian Water.

There are three ways you can do an Anglian water change of address:

  1. Online via MyAccount
  2. Fill out the online form
  3. By phone

Whichever option you choose, you will need to have some information ready before you can continue:

  1. Your Anglian Water account number
  2. The full address of your old and new property
  3. An up-to-date meter reading for your old and new property
  4. Your bank account details if you want to pay by direct debit

You can notify the Anglian Water moving home team up to five weeks before you move. You must give at least 10 working days notice if you need Anglian Water to read your meter.

Anglian Water Change of Address via MyAccount

You’ll need to register for an Anglian Water MyAccount if you haven’t already, but it’s quick and easy to do. Aside from doing an Anglian Water change of address, you can also manage the rest of your account and view your Anglian Water bills from the MyAccount portal.

Anglian Water Change of Address Online Form

You can submit the Anglian Water change of address form online if you don’t want to register for an Anglian Water MyAccount.

You need to just choose the first option, I am an existing Anglian Water customer, and then select the option Continue to form to continue without logging-in or registering for an Anglian Water MyAccount.

Anglian Water Change of Address by Phone

Sometimes you just want to speak to somebody to make sure it’s done correctly. For customers who prefer to contact the Anglian Water moving home team by phone, you can call them on 03457 919 155.

Anglian Water New Customer

To register as an Anglian Water new customer, the quickest way is by going online and filling out the Anglian Water register form.

You can register for an Anglian Water MyAccount so you have everything in one place and can manage your water account online.

To register Anglian Water online, fill out the Anglian Water moving home form. When you register the first time, you can add additional names to the account. Named customers can discuss the Anglian Water account in the future.

Customers who would prefer to speak to an Anglian Water moving home agent by phone to register can call 03457 919 155. You’ll need to wait about 40 seconds and then press #. It will transfer you to an Anglian Water representative who can help you register for your Anglian Water new customer account and discuss your new water rates and how you want to pay your water bill.

You can get a smart water meter with Anglian Water With Anglian Water you are eligible for a free smart water meter. These are different from the traditional water meter as they will send a regular meter reading to Anglian Water so you can pay exactly the amount you owe.

Anglian Water new customers will need to have some information ready:

  • Your name, and any other names you would like to add to the account
  • Your new address, including postcode
  • An up-to-date meter reading, if your new property has a water meter
  • The meter serial number, for properties built less than five years ago
  • Your bank account details, if you want to pay by direct debit

You can notify the Anglian Water moving home team up to five weeks before you move.

Anglian Water Close Account

Customers who are moving house and leaving the Anglian Water supply region will need to close their account and pay a final bill. You will also need to find your new water supplier for the new property.

You can close your Anglian Water account by calling 03457 919 155. When you’re closing your account, you will need to have your Anglian Water account number at hand and Anglian Water may ask for a forwarding address where they can send your last bill.

Anglian Water allows you to notify them of a move up to five weeks in advance, however when you’re closing your account it may be best to leave it until closer to the time if you are going to provide a water meter reading.

Anglian Water Tenants

As an Anglian Water tenant, you can choose to register as an Anglian Water new customer or fill out the Anglian Water change of address form if you have an existing account with Anglian Water.

You should, however, check if you are going to pay for your Anglian Water bill or if your landlord includes it within your rent. You can check your tenancy agreement to see who pays the Anglian Water bill. Should your tenancy agreement not specify who should pay, then you are most likely responsible for the Anglian Water bill. Check with your landlord or agency if it’s unclear.

To register for an Anglian Water account, you can fill out the form online and take advantage of registering for Anglian Water MyAccount at the same time or you can choose to let the Anglian Water change of address team know by calling them on 03457 919 155. When calling, wait about 40 seconds and then press # to speak to an Anglian Water change of address representative to set up your Anglian Water account and set up your water bill.

Existing Anglian Water customers can either login to Anglian Water MyAccount, fill out the Anglian Water change of address form online or call 03457 919 155.

You will need to prepare the following information before you register or call the Anglian Water change of address team:

  1. Your Anglian Water account number if you’re an existing customer.
  2. The full address of your new property. Also Include the address of your old property if you’re an existing customer.
  3. An up-to-date meter reading for your new property. Existing customers should also provide a meter reading for their old property.
  4. Your bank account details if you want to pay by direct debit.

You can notify the Anglian Water moving home team up to five weeks before you move. Existing customers must give at least 10 working days notice if you need Anglian Water to read your meter.

Anglian Water Landlords

Landlords who rent out properties within the Anglian Water region can take advantage of the nationwide Landlord TAP service to manage water accounts. With Landlord TAP you can keep your property portfolio up to date for water accounts and use it to manage things such as:

  • Add and remove properties within your portfolio
  • Tell Anglian Water about changes of tenancy and changes to tenant’s details
  • Let Anglian Water know when a property is empty
  • Inform Anglian Water if you sell or no longer manage a property

You can also use Landlord TAP to tell Anglian Water who handles the water bill, you or your tenant.

Just Moved In and No Water?

If you’ve just moved into your new home and you don’t have any water, it might be that the previous occupant or your landlord has turned it off to prevent possible leakages.

Make sure that the stop tap inside your house is open and not closed. It could be that the stop tap is outside. Once you’ve checked this, try and turn on the taps to see if you have water.

Anglian Water Moving Home Complaint

If you have had any problems during your Anglian Water moving home experience, you should give them a ring to get them to fix it for you. Unfortunately, you cannot switch water suppliers, so you will need to be patient and allow Anglian Water to help you as much as possible. You should call them on their complaints line 0345 791 9155.

If Anglian Water still hasn't managed to resolve your issue, you can take it to the Consumer Council for Water (CCW) who will take your complaint on for you. If CCW fails, you can escalate the case even further to the Water Redress Scheme (WATRS) who take on long-term disputes.

Don’t take your complaint to Ofwat! If you need to escalate your complaint, don’t take it to the water regulator Ofwat as they will not be able to help you. Ofwat only deals with complaints about anti-competitive behaviour in the water industry.
