Selectra take

When Three Business actually makes sense

Three Business is strongest in two specific cases. First, a brand-new site without an Openreach connection: a shop opening next month, a pop-up office, a building site, anywhere you need broadband on day one and cannot wait three weeks for an engineer. The 5G Hub solves this neatly. Second, a mobile-first SME where most of the team works on the road and Three’s Go Roam and unlimited data plans actually get used.

If your business is fixed at one address with good Openreach Full Fibre, a business-grade fibre line from BT Business or a smaller alt-net is usually the safer pick, faster upload, lower latency and a fixed connection that does not depend on mobile cells. Three Business shines when mobility, no-install and quick set-up matter more than raw fibre speed.

FAQ

Three Business, your questions answered

How is Three Business different from consumer Three?

Three Business runs the same network as consumer Three but adds three SME-specific things: a business-grade SLA on broadband (response targets when a connection fails), a dedicated business support line with shorter call queues, and fleet billing if you have more than one SIM. Prices are quoted ex. VAT and contracts are typically 24 to 36 months.

Can I get Three Business 5G Hub broadband for a new shop?

Yes, and it is one of Three’s strongest SME use-cases. The 5G Hub plugs into a wall socket and is online in minutes. There is no Openreach engineer wait, no phone-line install and no upfront fee. The catch is the same as consumer Three: the connection only works if 5G or 4G reaches the shop floor strongly. Use the Three coverage checker against the shop postcode before signing.

Does Three Business include Microsoft 365?

Three Business resells Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Business Premium licences on a per-user, per-month basis bundled with your mobile or broadband bill. It is the same Microsoft product you would get direct from Microsoft, just billed through Three. Useful if you want a single invoice and a single account manager for SIM, broadband and email.

How long are Three Business contracts?

Most Three Business contracts run for 24 or 36 months, with 36 months unlocking the lowest monthly prices. Some flexible 1-month rolling SIMs exist but are priced higher. Broadband plans are 24 months by default. There is also an Ofcom-mandated free 30-day window to leave penalty-free if Three raises the price beyond the fixed amount written into your contract.

How do I contact Three Business?

The Three Business support line is 0800 033 8033 (free from a UK landline) or 337 from a Three handset. Hours are typically Monday to Friday 08:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 18:00. For new business sales, you can also book a callback on the Three Business site. Full directory on our Three contact page.
