UK Power Networks is the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for London, South East & East of England. It is owned by Cheung Kong Group (CKG), a company that operates in 54 different countries and employs over 240,000 people. UK Power Networks’ distribution area covers the English capital, London, and other large areas such as Brighton, Norwich and Cambridge, serving 8.1 million customers. This network is comprised of 46,000km of overhead lines, 138,000km of underground cables and more than 100,000 substations. This has created employment for 5,000 people.
