Need to get in touch with Economy Energy? Not sure who exactly you should be talking to now that the company has shut its doors? Don’t worry, if you need to get in touch with the gas and electricity supplier we have all the email addresses, phone numbers and contact pages you’ll need, no matter the issue.

How to contact Economy Energy

Getting in touch with a company that's officially out of business sounds like it may be impossible, but don't fret, that's not the case. Below we've outlined various contact methods to resolve any pending issues with the failed company.

Contact info for potential customers

If you’re not currently an Economy Energy customer but you want to switch to the energy supplier, we have some bad news - Economy Energy is no longer trading! If you’re currently hearing good reviews from Economy Energy customers, they’re actually being supplied by Ovo Energy (pay monthly tariffs) and Boost Energy (prepayment tariffs), and have been since January 2019.

Considering switching?

If your energy supplier has gone belly up, your service will be switched to another energy supplier that is assigned by Ofgem. However, you’re not required to stay with the new energy supplier that’s taken over your service.

If you were an Economy Energy customer and you haven’t already made the switch for yourself, then your gas and electricity are being supplied by Ovo Energy. Be aware that while Ovo has very positive customer reviews they also have some pretty high prices!

Flame and light bulb

Don’t settle for Ofgem’s choice!

Call one of our energy experts to switch to the best tariff possible for your home.

Ovo may be an improvement over the service you received from Economy Energy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do better. Because prices in the energy industry are constantly in flux and most energy companies have a menagerie of tariff options, the best way to be sure you’re getting the best deal is to give us a call.

Contacting Economy Energy - current customers

If you want to get in touch with Economy Energy to sort out your final bills or for any other reason, you’re in luck. We’ve mapped out how to contact the energy supplier via telephone, email and more. Read on to find out how to connect with Economy Energy.

Our full Economy Energy profile has even more useful information for former customers of supplier, be sure to check it out.

Customer service

Most issues you may have with the gas and electricity producer can be resolved by contacting their customer service representatives.

Unfortunately, Economy Energy was known for having subpar customer service, meaning previous calls or emails to the supplier may have gone unresolved or even ignored. Now that your service has been shifted to Ovo Energy you can generally expect far better service, but there may be missing information or delays caused by the turnover of the business.

Contact number

As we mentioned before, Economy Energy is no longer trading. That being said, you can still get in touch with the company via their main telephone number listed below during their business hours: 8am-7:30pm Monday through Friday and 8am - 5:30pm on Saturdays.

We at Selectra got in touch with the energy supplier and our call was attended to in just a few seconds. However, after clarifying whether we were calling regarding a standard or prepaid meter, we were immediately transferred to either an Ovo Energy or a Boost (Ovo’s dedicated prepaid branch) customer service representative.

To save yourself a step, you may wish to contact either Boost or Ovo Energy directly rather than calling Economy Energy. You can do so via the numbers below.

Out of hours contact

If you want to get information about your tariff or meter outside of the hours listed above, you do have some options. We recommend checking out the customer forums available on the Ovo Energy and Boost webpages (again, depending on whether you have a prepaid or standard meter). They are full of useful info and tips provided by the company and customers who have had the same issues.

Economy Energy email address

Want to get in touch with your energy supplier but hate talking on the phone with strangers? You also have the option of sending an email.

For most issues, you’ll want to use the ‘standard customer service’ email. If you’re a priority service customer (generally customers with special needs such as visual impairment or other medical issues) you should use the priority service email.

As we specified in the phone number section, it may be faster to contact Ovo Energy (or Boost Power if you have a prepayment meter) directly.

Have an emergency?

If you are experiencing an emergency with your electricity or gas supply you’ll need prompt and informative customer service to fix your problem straight away.

Suspect a gas leak?

If your home is or may be experiencing a gas leak, don’t waste time speaking to Economy Energy, Ovo Energy or any other gas supplier. Instead, call the National Gas Service Emergency Line straight away at 0800 111 999. They’ll walk you through the process of checking or repairing the leak.

While this is happening, avoid a potentially deadly situation by being careful not to spark any flames! If you suspect a leak you absolutely should not smoke, light any flames/sparks or even use electrical devices - including your mobile - inside your home.

Gas or electricity cut off?

If you have an unexplained cut off of your gas supply, you should get in touch with your gas supplier. You can reach Economy Energy via the number below and they will redirect you based on the details you provide.

Depending on the circumstances, or if you have a problem outside of business hours, you may also need to contact your gas distributor, which is not the same as your supplier. Check out our full guide on finding your gas distributor.

If you have an unexplained power outage you should first make sure it’s not due to a blown fuse. If it isn’t, be sure to report the outage to local authorities by dialing 105 and specifying your address and the circumstances of the outage.

Economy Energy login page

If you want to check the state of your Economy Energy account, the easiest way to do so is by logging in. Even though the energy supplier has stopped trading their login page is still active as of June 2019. Visit our Economy Energy login page for all the details on how to log in via the link below.

Social media

Interestingly enough, Economy Energy has virtually no social media presence, a bold choice in 2019. They seem to have no official Facebook page and their Twitter account has never actually sent out a tweet. Their most active social media page, their Youtube account, has only ever uploaded one video.

Contacting Ovo Energy

As we’ve mentioned above, all of Economy Energy’s customers that haven’t deliberately switched to a new energy supplier were transferred automatically to Ovo Energy. Because of that, you may find it useful to contact the supplier via the links below.

Contact information

There are a variety of phone numbers, emails and other resources that Ovo Energy has available for their customers in order to register complaints, report service issues and clear up any questions about your service. You can visit our full Ovo Energy contact page in order to find the phone number or email address that you need to reach the company, no matter what your inquiry may be.

Login page

You may also want to access or set up your Ovo Energy online account. The best way to be sure everything is done correctly - not to mention easily - is to take a look at our Ovo Energy login page, coming soon.
