Eon Business plans and prices

Eon Business offers a range of plans to suit your individual business’ needs. The company’s electricity and gas plans are sold separately. If you’re not already an Eon Business customer, it will take around six weeks to switch to the company from your current energy supplier.

Since Eon Business customizes your price based on the size of the business and its projected energy use, you should use your own gas and electricity consumption levels in order to get an accurate quote. You can find this information on any bill or renewal letter from your current provider.

Not sure how much energy your business uses? Refer to the table below to get an idea of how much it consumes.

Business Sizes and Consumptions
Type of business Number of employees Turnover Average annual electricity usage Average annual gas usage
Micro business Less than 10 Less than £2 million 5,000-15,000 kWh 5,000-15,000 kWh

Medium business 50 to 249 Less than £50 million 25,000-50,000 kWh 30,000-65,000 kWh

SME plans

Eon Business plans for SMEs are available for customers that use either less than 1 GWh of energy per year or spend less than £175,000 on their annual gas and electricity bills. The company now offers 100% renewable electricity to these customers as standard.

Eon Business offers fixed-rate plans (in which the rate is guaranteed for the duration of the agreement) that last from one to three years. While the longer-lasting plans currently include more expensive rates than shorter plans, you will likely save more money over time because the price is protected from any sort of increase for a longer period of time.

The company also provides variable plans (in which the rates are not guaranteed, but rather fluctuate with the wholesale cost of energy). Variable rates are almost always more expensive than fixed rates.

Customers are automatically placed on a variable plan when their fixed contract comes to an end. The one benefit that variable plans offer is that you only need to give thirty days notice to switch to a different supplier. With fixed plans, you must wait until the agreement ends before you are able to change companies.
