Using your UK Netflix subscription abroad
Rules for travel and relocation

Short trips (tourism, business). You can use Netflix without restrictions in any country. The catalogue adapts automatically to whichever country you are visiting, but billing and video quality stay the same as in the UK. There are no extra charges.

Long-term relocation. Netflix detects through your IP address whether you have moved permanently to another country. If so, you will need to update the account country and pay the local price, which may be higher or lower than the UK price.
How many simultaneous screens are allowed?
The number of screens that can stream Netflix at once depends on the plan. This limit applies regardless of which country you are in:
- Standard with adverts2 screens (Full HD 1080p);
- Standard2 screens (Full HD 1080p);
- Premium4 screens (Ultra HD 4K + HDR).
Netflix tracks device location through IP address. If you use the account on devices in different countries, the service may ask you to verify the account by email or SMS. For short trips and holidays there are no restrictions, and billing stays the same as in the UK.
For long-term use in another country, Netflix may ask you to update the account country and adjust the price to local market rates. Account sharing with people outside your household is allowed only through the Extra Member option, at an additional cost of around £5.99 per month per person on Standard or Premium plans.
Does every country offer the same plans?
No. Although most countries offer Standard and Premium, there are major differences. The Basic plan has been retired in the UK, EU and US, while Standard with adverts is not available in every market. Always check the local catalogue at netflix.com/signup.
