Octopus Energy: login, app & account features
Octopus Energy wants all its customers to do everything online through online accounts, so say goodbye to paper bills - all your statements will be digital! You can access your account by entering your Octopus Energy login details on the main login page. Making things really convenient for you, you can also manage your account when you are on the go with the Octopus Energy app. Let’s have a look at how you can sign in to your Octopus Energy account, use the app and set up an account in the first place.
Octopus Energy login: how to log in to your account
You only need two things to log into your Octopus Energy online account: your email address and your password. You will have set these when you first signed up to Octopus and created your online account.
With these pieces of information in mind (or written down, depending on how good your memory is), head to the Octopus Energy login page. This page is really easy to find: go onto the Octopus Energy website and in the top left hand corner it says Account, click this and ta dah, you’re on the login page, easy!
If you want to go directly to the Octopus Energy login page right now, you can do so by clicking the button below. A little handy tip: save this link in the favourites/bookmarks bar on your search engine so you never have to search for it again.
So now you are on the login page. It should look like this.
On the line where it reads Email Address in grey, enter the email address that is connected to your account. Underneath this, on the line where it reads Password, enter the password you set for your account. Then press the big pink button that says Sign in. You will now be logged in to your account and able to view your bills, edit your personal details, Octopus Energy Login, submit meter readings and more.
I can’t sign in to my account!
If you have followed the above instructions but cannot log in, it could be that you have entered your email address or password incorrectly. As a first step, repeat the Octopus Energy login process, double checking that you have spelt your email address and password correctly.
Remember that passwords are case sensitive so it could be that you have simply forgotten a capital letter. Also, bear in mind that a lot of passwords have to include a number and/or special character, such as a dash or exclamation mark, so make sure you remember what you included in your password for Octopus Energy.
If you are sure you have entered both your email address and password correctly but still cannot log in, you will need to contact Octopus Energy’s customer service team to see what is going on.
I’ve forgotten my Octopus Energy password
If you can’t remember your password don’t worry, you aren’t locked out of your account forever. It’s really easy to get a new password and you don’t even need to contact Octopus to do it.
On the main Octopus Energy sign in page, there is a blue link that reads Forgotten your password?.
Click this link. You will be taken to a new page where it says Reset password. On the line where it says Email Address, enter the email address that corresponds to your account and press the big pink button that says Send Email.
You will receive an email from Octopus Energy with instructions on how to reset your password. Follow these instructions and you will have a new password and be able to log into your account in seconds.
I’ve forgotten my email address
Unfortunately, if you’ve forgotten your email address it’s a bit more serious than if you’ve forgotten your password. If you can’t remember your email address, you will need to give Octopus Energy a call on 0330 808 1080.
I want to change my email address and/or password
Changing any of your Octopus Energy account details, such as your email address and password, is really easy. Simply log in to your account and you can change any details that you wish to.
I’ve signed in, what can I do on my account?
Your Octopus Energy account is your personal account where you can manage everything related to your energy tariff: view bills and statement; submit meter ratings; edit details; refer friends; track your tariff; and tell Octopus you’re moving house.
Is there an Octopus Energy app?
Yes! You can also manage your account through the Octopus Energy app that’s available for free on the App store. It has some really useful features that mean you don’t need to sign into your online account as often: you can view your bills, update your account details and contact the Octopus Energy team. A really handy feature is the meter reading scanner which lets you scan your meter readings so you don’t have to manually enter the figures on your account.
Go to our Octopus Energy reviews page to see how users rate the app overall.
Is there an Octopus Energy app for Android?
For now, the app is only available for Apple devices and is not compatible with Android devices (June 2019). An Android app seems to be in development but there is no news on a release date. We will let you know when there is more news.
