How to sign in to My giffgaff on the web and in the app, reset your password or member name, turn on two-factor and find your PUK if your SIM is locked.

Everything you might need to do on My giffgaff

All giffgaff sign-in URLs go through giffgaff.com only. Never sign in through a link in an email or SMS, even if the giffgaff logo looks right.

  1. 1 Go to giffgaff.com and click Sign in (top right)
  2. 2 Enter your member name (the username you chose at registration)
  3. 3 Enter your password
  4. 4 Approve the email or SMS code if two-factor is enabled
  5. 5 You land on the My giffgaff dashboard

Best for

Anything that needs a bigger screen: ordering a SIM, downloading bills, payback.

Mobile

  1. 1 Download giffgaff from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
  2. 2 Open and tap Sign in
  3. 3 Enter your member name + password the first time
  4. 4 Enable Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint to skip the password
  5. 5 Use the Help tab to start a chat with the community

Best for

Day-to-day checks, buying a goodybag and contacting support.

Recovery

Forgot password

  1. 1 On the sign-in page, click Forgot password
  2. 2 Enter your member name OR the email on your giffgaff account
  3. 3 giffgaff emails a reset link valid for 24 hours
  4. 4 Pick a new password (minimum 8 characters)
  5. 5 Sign in again with the new password

Best for

Locked out: pick a password manager instead of a sticky note.

Recovery

Forgot member name

  1. 1 On the sign-in page, click Forgot member name
  2. 2 Enter the email you registered with giffgaff
  3. 3 giffgaff emails you the member name
  4. 4 If you no longer have access to that email, post in community.giffgaff.com
  5. 5 A giffgaff agent will verify your identity and reset the account

Best for

When you cannot remember the username you originally picked.

Security

Two-factor verification

  1. 1 In My giffgaff, open Account settings → Security
  2. 2 Turn on Two-factor authentication
  3. 3 Choose code by email or by SMS
  4. 4 Enter the test code giffgaff sends
  5. 5 New sign-ins from new devices need both password + code

Best for

Strongly recommended, your giffgaff account holds your direct debit and address.

SIM unlock

Find your PUK code

  1. 1 Sign in to My giffgaff in a browser
  2. 2 Open SIM card details on the dashboard
  3. 3 Your PUK1 and PUK2 codes are listed there
  4. 4 Enter the PUK at the SIM-locked screen to unlock
  5. 5 Then set a new PIN of 4 to 8 digits

Best for

When you have entered the wrong PIN three times and the SIM is locked.

FAQ

My giffgaff login questions, answered

What is a giffgaff member name?

Your member name is the username you chose when you registered with giffgaff (e.g. jack_runs_42). It is different from your email and from your mobile number. giffgaff uses it to identify you in the community forum (where helpful posts earn payback) and to sign in to My giffgaff. You cannot change it once chosen.

Why can't I sign in to My giffgaff?

Three common causes. (1) Wrong member name (it is not your email); use Forgot member name if needed. (2) Wrong password; reset with Forgot password. (3) An older browser or a strict ad-blocker can break the sign-in flow; try Chrome or Safari with extensions disabled. If two-factor is on, double-check you can receive the SMS or email code.

Does giffgaff have a phone number for login help?

No. giffgaff has no phone support at all. For login help, post in the giffgaff community forum (typical reply within 20 minutes) or use the Help tab in the giffgaff app to chat with an agent. Account-recovery requests that involve identity verification go through agents in the forum or via private message.

How do I buy a goodybag once signed in?

On the web: dashboard → Buy a goodybag → pick your goodybag → pay by card or use existing credit. In the app: tap Goodybag and follow the same flow. The goodybag activates immediately and replaces any unused allowance from the previous one. Auto-renew is opt-in.

How do I check my giffgaff balance and goodybag?

Three options. (1) Sign in to My giffgaff online or in the app: the dashboard shows credit, goodybag remaining and expiry date. (2) Text BALANCE to 43430 (free). (3) Dial *100# from your giffgaff SIM for a balance + expiry pop-up.
