TalkTalk TV customers that want to cancel TalkTalk TV will need to follow the same steps as you would to cancel your TalkTalk Broadband service. But be sure to mention that you would like to cancel TalkTalk TV and not your broadband, if that's the case. We should point out that it's not possible to cancel TalkTalk broadband and keep TalkTalk TV.

If you want to keep your TalkTalk Streaming Services, you should consider Netgem TV instead. It's the same system that TalkTalk TV uses, so nothing will change - except it's a cheaper option to join through our team here at Selectra.

How Long Will it Take To Cancel My TalkTalk Contract?

stopwatch

To cancel TalkTalk, the provider asks you to provide at least 30-days notice, either in writing or by phone. This allows TalkTalk to make the necessary arrangements to terminate your broadband service with them.

However, if you’re switching your broadband service to another provider, your new provider may handle the TalkTalk cancellation for you. In this case, TalkTalk will accept the transfer date given by your new provider as sufficient notice.

Switching Providers? If you’re Switching Broadband, some Broadband Providers are now able to cancel your existing service on your behalf as part of the transfer procedure. However, not all providers will do this and you should ask during sign-up who will notify your existing provider. Failing to cancel your broadband service will result in you being charged for two services instead of one.

Can I Still Use My TalkTalk Service During the Cancellation Process?

Of course! The cancellation process is just a formal acknowledgement that you no longer want to be part of TalkTalk’s network. You will still be able to use your service while the cancellation is in progress, but make sure you follow the instructions provided by TalkTalk customer service carefully.

Does Talktalk Charge for Cancellation?

If you've decided to cancel TalkTalk and you're still in a contract with the provider, you might need to pay an early-termination fee (also known as an early exit fee). Therefore you should check how long you have remaining before you cancel if you don't want to pay any termination fees to TalkTalk.

The amount you’ll need to pay, if you’re subjected to early-termination charges, is based on the package you’ve taken out with TalkTalk. In the table below you can see how much the early-termination fee is and you can work out how much the early-termination cost will be for you. Simply multiply the charge per month by the number of months you have remaining on your TalkTalk contract.

I’ve Had Talktalk for Five Years, Why Do I Have to Pay a Termination Fee? You might have had TalkTalk for several years, however, if you've signed up for any special offers or TalkTalk renewal deals during that time it's likely your contract has been extended which is why you have to pay a termination fee to TalkTalk. Always check terms and conditions when you sign-up for any broadband deal you're offered - especially by your existing provider.

TalkTalk Early-Termination Charges
Package Charge per month remaining on your contract
Fast Broadband £10.80
Fibre 35 £10.20
Fibre 65 £10.20
Fibre 150 £10.20
Fibre 250 £10.20
Fibre 150 Data Only £10.20
Fibre 500 Data Only £10.20
Ultra Fibre Optic £19.20
Faster Fibre £10.20
