Most UK water customers without a meter are billed on rateable value - a property assessment from before 1990 - which means they may be paying for more water than they actually use.

You can also sign up for future incident notifications by email or SMS text message. Use the "Keep Me Informed" feature on the map page, enter your postcode and contact details, and choose an alert radius between 200m and 500m. We recommend enabling the Advanced Options so you can widen the alert area and give your alert a custom name for easy management.
How to Make a Complaint to South East Water
South East Water follows a structured four-step complaints process. Since you cannot switch water supplier, the process is designed to escalate your issue through independent bodies if the company fails to resolve it. We recommend starting with a phone call or the online complaints form and keeping a written record of every interaction.
In your initial complaint, include two clear paragraphs: the first detailing the issue and the second explaining what you would like South East Water to do about it. The company will attempt to resolve the matter within 5 working days, and if it takes longer than 10 days, you are entitled to £20 credit on your account.

Step 2 - Request a Review

After 8 weeks or a deadlock letter, take your case to the CCW, the official body that mediates water complaints free of charge.
Step 4 - Water Redress Scheme
If CCW cannot resolve the dispute, the Water Redress Scheme (WATRS) makes a final, binding decision on your case.
